Long Term Hold

Peter Kelly, Sara Heston. (2024)

Stanford GSB Case "E870 Long Term Hold" (companion note to the 2024 study), 2 pp

Dated 6/28/2024. Defines Long Term Hold (LTH) as "a category of variations to the core search fund model", a subset of committed capital vehicles, typically with "a larger pool of committed capital ($15-$25M)", a narrow thesis, "a minimum 10 to 20 year time horizon", growth mainly by acquisition, and a board formed at the outset (p1). Definitional only; no outcome data. It explains why 22 such vehicles were removed from the 2024 study sample.
